Government of AP has decided to release Rs.250 crore towards payments for the victims of Agri Gold scam. This is part of first phase payments for the depositors of Agri Gold.
Depositors who have paid Rs.10000 will get their money back. Priority will be given to the small depositors initially. The Government may take the money back from the auction of Agri Gold properties.
Entire Agri Gold issue is under the purview of High Court. The auction of properties and repayments are being supervised by the High Court.
Agri Gold scam created sensation across the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala as lakhs of depositors were cheated by the company in the guise of plots and houses.
Detailed repayment schedule will be announced by the Government after due approvals from the High Court. The depositors have to produce bonds and payment receipts to get their deposited money back.
