Hyderabad is growing fast. The city has spread its wings in all directions and adding more villages and mandals under its purview. Realizing this, the Chief Minister has proposed to chalk out a new Master Plan for the city. The plan will be prepared by Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI).
Next level Hyderabad:
The TS Government has been advocating for next level development of Hyderabad. ORR is completed and RRR (Regional Ring Road) and Metro Train project are in progress. The Government will engage national and internationally reputed consultants to prepare new master plan.
Various Zones:
Government is proposed to categorise the Hyderabad into various zones such as education city, a health city, a sports city, a cinema city etc. The land and other facilities will be developed according to the requirements of that category. The master plan can not be changed without the approval of cabinet.
Goal of Global City:
The new master plan will be prepared considering the requirements and development of Hyderabad in the coming ten years and more. The Government also mooted for separate authority apart from HMDA to implement the master plan in coordination with GHMC and HMDA.
Three areas of development:
Hyderabad will be divided broadly into three areas. These are as follows:
1) Hyderabad city within the Outer Ring Road (ORR)
2) Area between the ORR and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR)
3) Area outside of the Regional Ring Road (RRR).
Proposed reservoir at Keshavapur will be completed soon as this will be supplying drinking water to Hyderabad city. Metro Rail project will be extended till Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
