Ajit Kumar Doval, is the man in the news in recent times. Doval, a retired IPS officer is presently serving as National Security Adviser of Government of India. Ajit Doval is the brain behind India’s changing security strategies with Pakistan. He is also the man behind surgical strike 1 and 2. With latest India – Pakistan air strikes, Ajit Doval has again became popular. He is known as Indian Jamesbond for his meticulous planning of security affairs of the country. Following is the profile / biodata of Ajit Doval.
Previous Assignments:
Ajit Doval previously served as Director of Intelligence Bureau of Government of India during 2004-05. Before that he served as head of operations wing of IB for a decade. India’s Balakot strike on 26th February 2019 is carried out under his supervision.
Personal Details:
Ajit Doval was from Uttarakhand. He was born in Ghiri Banelsyun village in a Garhwali family. That village was in the erstwhile United Provinces. Doval’s father was an officer in the Indian Army.
Education:
Ajit Doval studied in Ajmer Military School (formerly King George’s Royal Indian Military School) in Ajmer, Rajasthan. He did his masters in Economics University of Agra in 1967. He is also the receipient of an honorary doctorate for his contribution in the field of strategic and security matters from Agra University. He is very much interested in Science and Literature as well.
Joined in IPS:
Ajit Doval joined the IPS in 1968. He served in the Kerala cadre. He has huge experience in anti-insurgency operations in Mizoram and Punjab. Doval was involved in all the 15 hijackings of Indian Airlines aircrafts between 1971–1999. He was also the founder of Multi Agency Centre (MAC) and Joint Task Force on Intelligence (JTFI). Doval also spend 7 years in Pakistan as Indian High Commissioner.
National Security Advisor (2014–present)
After retirement, he spent a few years in social service work. In 2014, Doval was appointed as India’s National Security Advisor. He played crucial role in all the security related decisions thereafter.
