The ongoing tussle between the NDA government at the centre and TRS government in Telangana over handing over special powers to the Governor is likely to fix Telangana Government in an uncomfortable situation.
The government of India seems strong enough to implement AP Reorganisation Act 2014 in word and deed. This is clear in sending letters to Telangana government through union home ministry asking to hand over special powers to the governor with regard to Hyderabad.
The union government is likely to go on with its own strategy if the Telangana government do not succumb to the pressure. The BJP government may also consider constitutional ammendment if the situation arise for the same.
The legal experts are of the opinion that entrusting special powers to governor may not possible without constitutional amendments. This is nothing short of making Hyderabad a Union Territory in practice.
