The Government of Telangana will instate the statue of Chityala Ailamma (Chakali Ailamma) at her place of birth in Palakurthi in Warangal district of Telangana State. Interestingly, the statue is made by a sculptor from Kothapet of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, Raj Kumar Vadayar. The statue has been transported to Palakurthi and will be instated soon.
Chityala Ailamma / Chakali Ailamma is a revolutionary leader during Telangana Armed Struggle. Ailamma revolted against the then feudal lord, Zamindar Ramachandra Reddy (Deshmukh of Visnoor).
Ailamma became an inspiration for many to fight against landlords after her fight with Zamindar to save her four acre land. Ailamma born in 1919 in Krishnapuram village of Rayaparthi, Warangal district and died in 1985 at Palakurthi, Warangal district.
Chakali Ailamma joined Andhra Maha Sabha and communist party of India. She fought against Nizam government and organised the activities. She was married with Chityala Narsaiah and they had four sons and a daughter.
