Bihar Assembly Elections Schedule 2015 and Opinion Polls

The Election Commission of India has announced the State Assembly Elections Schedule 2015 for Bihar. There are 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar with a total of 6.68 crore voters. There 47 constituencies under the left wing influence. Following is the schedule for Assembly elections in Bihar:

1) October 12: 49 constituencies in 10 districts
2) October 16: 32 constituencies in 6 districts
3) October 28: 50 constituencies in 6 districts
4) November 1: 55 constituencies in 7 districts
5) November 5: 57 constituencies in 9 districts

Total polling centers: 62779. About 6000 security forces are deployed for the smooth conduct of elections. The existing assembly in Bihar will expire on 29th November 2015. The votes will be counted on 8th November 2015.

Opinion Polls:

The opinion polls conducted by India TV and C – Voter have predicted that the JD (U) lead Mahakutami which includes RJD and Congress is likely to get majority in Bihar elections. The NDS alliance may secure 94 – 110 seats in 243 seats assembly.
