Double Bedroom Housing Scheme in Telangana – Reservations and Allotment Procedure

2 BHK Housing Scheme is the most popular welfare scheme of Telangana Government. The scheme has helped TRS party to win the elections in 2018. The Double Bed Room Housing scheme (Pakka Indlu) has been successful and about 1.5 lakhs houses are under construction. Following are basic details of the scheme:

Rural Areas:

SC / ST Communities: 50 percent houses
Minorities: 7 percent houses
Others: 43 percent houses

Urban areas:

SC Community: 17 percent houses
ST Community: 6 percent houses
Minorities: 12 percent houses
Others: 65 percent houses

Selection Procedure:

1) The villages to be covered under 2 BHK will be selected by the District level committee.

2) The applications will be called for 2 BHK houses from eligible beneficiaries. The application schedule will be released by District Collectors. The applications will be collected by designated officers during Gram Sabha.

3) The first level scrutiny of applications will be done at Gram Sabha itself. The list after initial scrutiny will be sent to Tahsildar / MRO of that mandal. Tahasildar will further verify the list and the same will be forwarded to District Collector.

4) The list will be again sent to Gram Sabha by the Collector for final approval. The list once finalized by Gram Sabha will be approved by the District Collector and the same will be made available to public.

5) Any complaints on the finalized list will be scrutinized by the District Level Officer, nominated by the District Collector. The findings of the Officer will be placed before the Appellate Committee and the orders passed by the Committee will be considered as final.
