Government of India has banned the following websites and filed an FIR against those offering Aadhaar services without authorisation from the Government. UIDAI has recommended the authorities to file FIRs on these websites.
The eight such websites include aadhaarupdate.com, aadhaarindia.com, pvcaadhaar.in, aadhaarprinters.com, geteaachaar.com, downloadaadhaarcard.in, aadharcopy.in and duplicateaadharcard.com .
These websites are found gathering Aadhaar data from the people in the guide of approval from the Government. The Government has already closed come of such portals and apps previously.
The UIDAI has informed the people to use official website www.uidai.gov.in only for any kind of services related to Aadhaar Number / Cards / Corrections / Updates etc. It also advised the people not to fall prey to the fake websites.
