Government of Kerala has come up with some technical initiatives to contain Corona virus in the state. It has launched a You Tube channel and a mobile app to create awareness among the people on the precautions and preventive measures to be taken.
Mobile App – GOK Direct
GOK Direct Mobile Application has been launched by Kerala Government for the users to get latest and authentic information and updates regarding COVID-19. The app also sends text messages to the basic phones which do not have the option of internet along with smartphones.
People can download the GOK Direct app from Google Play Store and install on their mobile phones. It works both on smart phones and basic phone without internet.
Apart from this, Kerala Government has launched YouTube channel to keep the public updated about the spread of corona virus in various parts of the state and the precautions to be taken by the people.
Break the Chain campaign:
Kerala has also initiated ‘Break the Chain’ to contain the Corona virus. This campaign is aimed at educating the people about public and personal hygiene. As part of this campaign, Government of Kerala has set up water taps at public spots with hand wash bottles.
