Mancherial Assembly Constituency Profile – Telangana Elections

Mancherial Assembly constituency has been a stronghold of TRS party for a decade. Gaddam Aravind Reddy of TRS has won twice from this constituency on TRS ticket. He won in 2009 general elections and also in by-polls in 2010. Aravind Reddy later joined in Congress Party.

2018 and 2014 Elections:

In 2014 elections, TRS candidate Nadipelli Diwakar Rao won from the constituency over Congress candidate Gaddam Aravind Reddy. Following are vote shares in 2014 elections:

TRS party: 62.2 percent
Congress: 23.48 percent
BJP’s Mulkalla Malla Reddy: 7.57 percent

Total voter turnout was 65.45 percent in the Assembly segment and 63.8 percent in Lok Sabha Elections in 2014. TRS is fielding N Diwakar Rao again from Mancherial Constituency.

Mancherial is the headquarter of newly formed Mancherial district. It comes under the purview of Peddapalli Parliament Constituency. Here are the statistics of constituency:

Total Population: 2,95,643
Rural Population: 40.85 percent
Urban Population: 59.15 percent
Male population: 1,49,892
Women population: 1,45,751
SC, ST population: 19.02 percent and 3.89 percent respectively.
