Mannem Nageswara Rao, New Director of CBI is from Warangal District of Telangana

Mannem Nageswara Rao is another IPS officer from Telugu states after K Vijaya Ramarao to assume charge as Director of CBI.

Mannem Nageswara Rao, an IPS officer from Telangana has assumed charge as interim chief of India’s principal investigation authority, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Nageswara Rao has been elevated to the post of boss of CBI after prolonged internal feud between Alok Verma and Asthana, present top two officials of the CBI. Following is the brief profile of Mannem Nageswara Rao.

From Warangal district:

Mannem Nageswara Rao belongs to Warangal district in Telangana State. He was born in Bor Narsapur village of Mandapet mandal in Warangal district.

1986 Batch IPS:

He is serving as Joint Director of CBI before elevation as Interim Chief of CBI. He is an Odisha cadre IPS officer and belongs to 1986 batch of IPS officers.

Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) has ordered immediate appointment of Mannem Nageswara Rao as chief of CBI and sent controversial officers on leave. This is a big blow to the Central Government.
