The procedures and processes related to land registrations and mutations are always cumbersome for the common people. They need to visit number of offices and officers to get the work done before and after the transaction. This is going to change in Andhra Pradesh with Government is ready to do mutations along with registrations. The public need not go to mee seva centers for mutation of the property.
Pilot project in Krishna District:
The registration cum mutation will be carried out in a go after the registration of property under the new system. The system is in experimental stage in Kankipadu mandal of Krishna district.
In the present system, farmers have to apply separately for mutation at MRO offices after the completion of registration. Otherwise the records will not be updated in the RoR. Many farmers are not interested in mutations as it takes so much time and energies. This will change if the new system comes into effect.
Mutation in a month:
In the new registration cum mutation system, the registration documents will be sent online to revenue offices by SROs after the registration. The MROs will check the documents and also complete the mutation process within a month. The mutation document will be issued to the farmers.
Telangana has implemented automatic mutation soon after registration of the Immovable property to stop the corrupt practices of the VRO ABD MRO. Similarly Andhra pradesh should not delay and maintain the sanctity of land registration.
