Profile of C Ramachandraiah – Kadapa MLC from PRP

C Ramachandraiah is a senior leader of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP). He will be joining the state cabinet on 19th January along with his colleague from PRP, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, MLA from Visakhapatnam district. He is serving as an MLC in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. Ramachandraiah has been in news recently after he emerged as a strong contender for cabinet berth in Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Government. C Ramachandraiah is most likely to be inducted as a minister in AP cabinet along with Ganta Srinivasa Rao of PRP from Visakhapatnam district. Ramachandraiah is from Rajampeta of Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh.

Chennamsetty Ramachandraiah was a senior leader and polit bureau member in Telugu Desam Party (TDP) before he was joined in PRP during 2009 Assembly elections. He served in the AP cabinet and also was a Member of Rajya Sabha from TDP. He is from Kadapa district. Ramachandraiah is facing trouble from the Congress Party in the form of strong objections for his induction into ministry from Kamalapuram MLA Veera Siva Reddy. Here is a brief profile of C Ramachandraiah:

Ramachandraiah’s parents are Sriramulu and Subbamma. He was born on 27 March 1948 at Kadapa. He was married to Kasturi Bai on 12 May 1977 and they have a son and a daughter. He studied B.Com., F.C.A. and educated at S.V. Arts College, Tirupati and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is a chartered accountant by profession. Ramachandraiah’s permanent address is at 20/1064, Co-operative Colony, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh 516001.

He served as MLA and minister for Programme implementation during 1986-88. He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1998 from Telugu Desam Party. He was a polit Bureau member of the TDP before leaving to Praja Rajyam of Chiranjeevi. He also served as Spokesperson of Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party and Floor Leader of Telugu Desam Party in Rajya Sabha during his term.

Chennamsetty Ramachandraiah is a famous Chartered Accountant by profession. He joined in politics and known as an eloquent politician. He won as an MLC from Kadapa under the category of MLA quota constituency. Though the PRP is ceased to exit after its merger with the Congress, the leadership and cadre remain working separately and maintaining group identity to gain power and influence.
