Profile of Bellampalli – Gunda Mallesh

Gunda Mallesh is representing Bellampally Assembly Constituency in Adilibad district of Andhra Pradesh. This is his fourth term as an MLA. He is a senor leader from the Communist Party of India (CPI). He won three times from Asifabad Constituency of Adilabad district. These are during the Assembly elections held during 1983, 1985 and 1994. He has been contesting elections from 1978 onwards on the CPI symbol ans also from the same constituency.

Gunda Mallesh is a staunch follower of the CPI and known as a very simple man with much simple life. He belongs to Scheduled Caste and a native of Pochamallu His permanent address is at H.No-12-3-29, Mohammad Khasim Basthi, Bellampally Mandal, Adilabad district. Bellampally is a SC reserved constituency. Gunda Mallesh has recently resigned for his Assembly membership along with other MLAs from the region and the same was rejected by the Assembly speaker.

As per the Census of India, Bellampalli had a population of more than 1 lakh. The population consists of Males at 51 percent and females at 49 percent. Bellampalli has a average literacy rate of about 70 percent which is higher than the national average. About 60 percent of males and 58 percent of females in Bellampalli are literate. Traditionally, Belampalli is a loyal area for Communist party of India along with Asifabad.
