Palvai Govardhan Reddy has come back into limelight in AP politics after he was chosen for Rajya Sabha Membership by the Congress High Command. The senior leader leader of the Congress from Nalgonda district of AP is a surprise choice for Rajya Sabha by the AICC bosses at New Delhi. Govardhan Reddy has vast political experience and served in various positions in the Congress Party. He was elected to AP Assembly for five terms from Munugodu Assembly Constituency in Nalgonda district. Along with Palvai Goverdhan Reddy, other members who got nominations for Rajya Sabha in 2012 from AP are Chiranjeevi, Renuka Chowdary and Rapolu Anand Bhaskar. Palvai Govardhan Reddy was born on 20th November 1936. His father’s name is P. Ranga Reddy. Palval served as General Secretary, National Students Union of India (NSUI), Osmania University Branch, 1958 – 59. He also worked as President of the National Union of Students of India, Osmania University during 1959-61. He was General Secretary, of the Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress during 1962– 64. 6) Chairman of AP Brewerages Corporation Limited, 1990 – 93.
