Profile of Serilingampally Constituency – Andhra voters to decide MLA

Serilingamapally is hugely populated by people from Coastal Andhra Pradesh and
Rayalaseema. More than 70 percent of the voters are from these areas. Hence they
decide the fate of the candidates here. Seri Lingampalli is an Assembly Constituency
in Rangareddy district of Telangana. It includes Serilingampally, Balanagar,
Kukatpally mandals. Following is the profile of Serilingampalli constituency.

2018 and 2014 Elections:

In 2014 Assembly elections, Arekapudi Gandhi won the seat on the ticket of TDP.
He secured 75904 votes majority in that elections. Later he joined in TRS and now
contesting on TRS ticket in 2018 elections. In 2009 elections, Bhiksapathi Yadav of
Congress party won the seat defeating Muvva Satyanarayana of TDP with a thin
majority of 1227 votes.

Huge competition in 2018:

There is tough competition for seat of Serilingampally constituency. Gajjala Yoganand of Manjeera Real Estate Group is contesting on BJP ticket. TRS has finalised Gandhi’s candidature despite dissent from several local leaders. TDP, as part of alliance may get this seat and likely to field Anand Prasad, famous producer and builder.

Kamma and BC voters:

Serilingampally was part of Khairatabad Assembly Constituency before delimitation
of constituencies in 2009. It comes under the purview of Chevella Lok Sabha
constituency. Kamma and BC communities dominates the constituency. About 5.5
lakhs voters are going to exercise their franchise in 2018 elections.
