Tallest Shiva Lingam at Maheswaram Temple in Kerala

Here comes the new tallest Sivalingam structure in India. The Shiva lingam constructed on the premises of Maheswaram Sri Shiva Paravathi Temple at Chenkal in Kerala has set the record. The new Shivalingam is of 111.2 feet height with good design and architecture.

The Shivalingam has entered in India Book of Records and also has a chance to find place in Limca Book of Records and Guinness World Records. At present, the record is held by Kotilingeshwara Temple at Kolar in Karnataka state. Its height is 108 feet.

Resemblance of Kailasam:

The structure and architecture of Maheswaram temple is prepared in 2012 by Swami Maheswarananda Saraswathi, the head of the temple. The model is in resemblane of Kailasam, the abode of Lord Shiva, as described by the visitors.

64 forms of Lord Shiva:

The idols of Shiva and Parvati in of form of Aikya Bhavam and also a collection of 64 forms of lord Shiva are found inside the chamber of Shivalingam. 30 artisans are employed in the construction of the Shiva lingam. Final touches are being given to the Shiva lingam and it may be opened for public before Maha Shivaratri festival on 4th March 2019.
