You might have come across the SMS on your phone to link your Aadhaar Card / UID Number with EPIC Voter ID through SMS. This is part of the initiation taken by the Election Commission of India to remove bogus, duplicate, ineligible and fraudulent voters from the rolls. The process can be done through mobile, online portal, call center etc. Here is the procedure to link Aadhaar – EPIC voter ID through SMS from your mobile / cell phone:
Thouth the pilot study is being conducted by Election Commission in the identified 15 polling centers of GHMC (Hyderabad, Telangana) area, the procedure to link EPIC Voter ID – AADHAAR seeding is same across the country, which will be taken up in a phased manner.
The process is now being implemented in GHMC Area (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) covering 24 Assembly constituencies and also in Nizamabad District. The same will be replicated in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States soon.
SMS based Aadhaar – EPIC ID Seeding – through SMS:
Electorals should send an SMS containing the Aadhaar number and EPIC Card number. Ex : SEEDEPIC [space] [EPIC No] [space] [Aadhaar No]. The SMS should be sent to a number given to you by the EC through SMS. The data will be validated and the same will be updated on the website automatically.
