Congress Manifesto for Gujarat Elections 2012

The Congress Unit of Gujarat has released the Election Manifest 2012 for the Assembly elections to be held in December 2012. The Congress has launched a 12 point ‘Gujarat People Development Vision 2012’ promising several policies for better cities.

The Party has majorly concentrated on the issues related to urban development, town planning and urban life in the state. Senior leaders of Gujarat Congress, State Congress President Arjun Modhwadia, Leader of Opposition Shaktisinh Gohil and State election campaign committee chairman Shankarsinh Vaghela have announced the vision policies.

The Congress Party has promised to make the state a ‘zero-slum’ in all towns – cities through constructing houses to slum-dwellers. It also promised to bring in Maharashtra like policy for transfer and sale-purchase of Floor Space Index (FSI).

The Congress Party also promised to regularize number of colonies on the outskirts of cities and bring balanced development if voted to power in the state. Let us see how far the Congress Party gain votes through this urban oriented manifesto.
