Gottipati Ravi Kumar in TDP – What Next for Karanam Balaram

Prakasam district politics in Andhra Pradesh has once again in the limelight with the entry of Gottipati Ravi Kumar into Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The arch rivals in the district Gotipati and Karanam Balaram groups are likely to realign the forces with the latest developments.

TDP senior leader Karanam Balaram has already met Chief Minister and TDP supremo Chandrabau Naidu along with his son who is also the president of TDP for Prakasam district and expressed his reservations over the entry of Gottipati Ravi Kumar into TDP fold.

Gottipati and Balaram factions are traditionally on war path in the district for decades. They have never been in the same party. Karanam Balaram has fought with Gottipati Hanumantha Rao, Gottipati Narsaiah and now with Ravi Kumar to gain upper hand in the district politics.

But the emergence of Gottipati Ravi Kumar and his aggressiveness has deterred Balaram faction for a while. Ravi Kumar has gained hold on Addanki constituency. Karanam Balaram may take a decision soon with the latest developments.
