Corona cases in West Bengal are on steep rise. More than 400 positive cases and 12 deaths were reported across the state as on 22nd April 2020. It was also reported that Mamata Banerjee government is not following the guidelines of Central Government in containing the spread of Corona virus. Containment Zones:
So far, 15 districts in West Bengal are affected by the coronavirus. The state has also declared seven regions as containment zones including Kolkata, Howrah, Belgharia, Haldia, Egra, Tehatta and Kalimpong.

Government of India has identified several districts of the state as Corona hotspots. There will be strict actions on the violators of locktown in these areas. These are Kolkata, its twin city Howrah, North 24 Parganas, Medinipur East, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Kalimpong.
