Election Commission of India has released general elections and Assembly elections schedule 2014 for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The elections will be held as per the existing delimitation of constituencies. Following is the poll schedule in Telangana state / region (as the state will come into existence from 2nd June 2014):
1) Polling will be held on 30th April 2014 in Telangana.
2) Release of election notification: 2nd April
3) Last date for filing of nominations: 9 April
4) Scrutiny of nominations: 10th April
5) Withdrawal of nominations: 12 April
6) Polling: 30 April
7) Counting of votes and results: 16 May 2014
The new government in Telangana state will be formed after 2nd June 2014. The Government of India has announced the appointed day as 2nd June 2014. Hence both AP and Telangana state formation days will be observed on the same day.
