In a historic move, the Government of Telangana has launched distribution of new pattadar passbooks to all the farmers / agriculture land owners in the state. Marking the launch of the scheme, new passbooks were distributed by the CM, K Chandrasekhar Rao in Karimnagar district on 10th May 2018.
Salient factures of new pattadar passbook scheme in Telangana:
1) Ownership of 1.42 crore acres of land clearly established by the survey teams and recorded in the Government database.
2) Each farmer will receive a tamper proof Pattadar Passbook with 17 unique security features, as proof of absolute ownership of the land.
3) About 58 lakhs farmers will be benefitted through this special drive to issue new pattadar passbooks. The Government has completed the process within 100 days from 15th September to 31st December 2018.
4) Each farmer was contacted personally to verify ownership and all objections were received, duly examined and necessary modifications were also made in the records.
5) All records now saved in digital format on Dharani website, which will now be treated as a single evidence in land records matters.
Under the new scheme, all owners of land will be provided with a Pattadar Passbook as the one single proof of ownership. This will save the time of the farmers and lenders while availing loans and other documentation.
