NYAY Scheme of Congress Party – Rs.72000 per Poor Family

Congress Party has announced its much talked minimum income guarantee scheme ahead of Lok Sabha polls 2019. Party Chief Rahul Gandhi has announced NYAY (Justice – Nyunatam Aay Yojana) scheme to provide minimum income of Rs. 72000 per each poor family in the country. The scheme will cover 20 percent of the poorest families in India. Details of NYAY scheme are given below.

For Women Beneficiaries:

NYAY scheme is aimed at women beneficiaries of the poor families. The amount of Rs.6000 per month will be credited into the bank accounts of women members of the family. Congress party says the scheme will empower the poor women in the country.

Congress party has claimed NYAY scheme will be surgical strike on poverty in India. Under the NYAY scheme, women in the poor families will receive the annual amount of Rs 72,000 directly into their accounts.

Eligibility Requirements:

The Congress party has not announced the details of the scheme. It is just an election promise as on date. The income limits and other conditions have to be formulated. It is primarily targeted at getting women votes in the coming elections.

BPL Families:

Mostly families under below poverty line will be benefited under NYAY scheme. Fomer RBI chief and several economists have supported the idea of NYAY scheme to alleviate poverty in the country. The scheme is applicable for urban and rural poor.
