Several problems and issues are reported in the issue of new pattadar passbooks in Telangana State. The distribution of new passbooks has almost stalled due to various reasons. About 5 lakhs passbooks have to be distributed to the farmers across the state.
Pahanis getting ready:
The revenue department has ordered the tahasildars to prepare Pahanis for each survey number. Pahanis have to be recorded after digital signatures on survey numbers.
Passbooks for Central Scheme:
Pattadar passbook is mandatory to get benefits under centrally sponsored PM Kisan Yojana scheme. Central Government will give Rs.6000 to each farmer based on their passbook data. This led the farmers to visit tahasildar offices frequently.
Rythu Bandhu scheme:
Rythu Bandhu scheme of Telangana Government is also implemented based on the land data in passbooks. Several farmers who did not get passbooks but have land ownership were not able to get benefits of Rythu Bandhu scheme.
Dharani problems:
Along with passbooks issues, Dharani website is also creating troubles for the farmers. There are several mistakes in the land survey records of Dharani portal. These mistakes have to be corrected only with the approvals of RDO, Tahasildar and JC. Issue of passbooks is further delayed due to this problem.
