NTR Canteens in AP Capital Amaravati – Lunch for Rs. 5

NTR canteens Anna Canteens The Government of Andhra Pradesh is on its way to start popular schemes in the new capital city Amaravati region. The AP Goverment will be launching a new scheme named NTR Canteens which will provide food for Rs. 5. The scheme will be launched on 28th May 2016 to mark the birth anniversary of NT Rama Rao, founder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

The scheme will be initially launched at three places. These are Tulluru, Mandadam, Nidamanuru villages which falls under CRDA / Amaravati region. The basic purpose of NTR Canteens scheme is to provide lunch for the poor people at an affordable price of Rs. 5.

The scheme will be operationalised by Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation. The scheme will be extended to other villages soon. Centralised cooking facility will be set up at Rayapudi village in the Amaravati.

The food will consist of Rs. 300 grams rice, 120 grams Sambar, 80 grams curry, 125 grams curd and 15 grams chutney / pickle. It is estimated that each place of the meals costs around Rs. 25.25. The CRDA will bear Rs. 15, the consumer will pay Rs. 5 and the remaining amount will be taken care by Hare Krishna Foundation.
