Profile of Mopidevi Venkata Ramana of Repalle Constituency

Mopidevi Venkata Ramana is an MLA of the Congress Party from Repalle Assembly Constituency in Andhra Pradesh. He won from Repalle in 2009 elections. Presently he is in news with submitting resignation to the ministry of prohibition and excise after CBI arrested him in YS Jagan’s illegal assets case. Following is the brief profile of Mopidevi Venkata Ramana:

Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao was born in August 1964. His native village is Nizampatnam in Guntur district. He studied BA. His parents are Nagulamma and Veera Raghavaiah. He served as MPP in 1987. He contested and lost in the 1989 and 1994 Assembly elections from Kuchinapudi Assembly Constituency. He won from the same constituency in 1999 and 2004 elections.

Kuchinapudi segment was demerged in 2009 elections and Mopidevi contested and won from Repalle Constituency in that elections. Before that he was inducted into the cabinet by YSR Reddy in 2007 as minister for infrastructure and ports. He was known to be very loyal to late YSR Reddy. Presently Mopidevi is facing various allegations related to decisions taken during YSR regime.
