Ravi Venkata Ramana was a former MLA of the Congress Party from Prathipadu Assembly Constituency in Guntur district. He was elected to AP Assembly for the first time in 2004 elections. Venkata Ramana did not contest in 2009 elections. Presently he is associated with YSR Congress Party. He is Guntur district coordinator of the YSR Congress. Prathipadu was reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) in 2009 elections. Mekathoti Sucharitha contested on the Congress Party ticket and defeated Kandukuri Veeraiah of the TDP. Sucharitha was disqualified from her MLA post after she was voted for no-confidence motion in the Assembly. She contested on the ticket of YSR Congress won the seat again. K.
