The Government of Andhra Pradesh has released the first phase Vijayawada Metro Rail Project 2015. The project implementation will be taken up by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The total Vijayawada Metro First phase cost is estimated at Rs. 6823 crore. According to the proposals, 40 percent cost of the project will be funded 20 percent each by Central and State Government. Other fundes will be generated from loans and other sources. Here is the first phase of Vijayawada Metro and Stations and Routes:

1) Vijayawada Eluru Road: Pandit Nehru Bus Stand, South Railway Station, East Railway Station, Besant Road, Sri Satya Sai Mandir, SRR Government College, City Cancer Hospital, Gunadala, Ramavarappadu Ring, Prasadampadu, Ramakrishna Way Bridge, Enikipadu, Nidamanuru.
2) Vijayawada – Machilipatnam Road: Victoria Jubilee Museum, Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, DV Manor Hotel, Benz Circle, Autonagar Gate, Ravindra Bharathi School, Sri Gayathri Junior College, Siddhardha Law College, Tadigadapa, Poranki, Penamaluru.
