Everything seems ready for the semi -finals in Andhra Pradesh. The news reports says that the Election Commission is likely to release Bye Elections notification in three or four days. The notification is most likely to be released on Tuesday, 24th April 2012. The bye elections to 18 Assembly Constituencies and Nellore Lok Sabha Constituency should be completed by the end of June 2012. These bye polls are considered as semi finals between the Congress Party and YSR Congress Party. The TDP is also trying its best to secure some seats. All the parties are announcing the candidates for respective constituencies.
As per the reports, the polling for these seats will be held in the last week of May 2012. The Assembly Constituencies that are going for polls in this phase are Parakala, Rajampet, Rayachoti, Ongole, Narsannapet, Payakaraopet, Ananthapuram, Yemmiganuru, Udayagiri, Narsapuram, Prattipadu, Ramachandrapuram, Railway Koduru, Maherla, Polavaram, Rayadurgam, Allagadda, Tirupati and Nellore Lok Sabha Constituency. It is going to be a big fight in Nellore with strongmen Mekapati and T Subbarami Reddy are fighting for the seat.
Out of these. 16 constituencies are going for polls due to disqualification of the sitting MLAs. Allagadda MLA, Sobha Nagireddy and Tirupati MLA Chiranjeevi resigned to their seats. Nellore MP, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy also resigned in support of YS Jagan. The bye elections to these constituencies will be held in May 2012 and the constituencies will elect new representatives by the end of June 2012.
