Botcha Jhansi Lakshmi is an MP of the Congress Party from Vizianagaram Lok Sabha Constituency in Andhra Pradesh. She is wife of Botcha Satyanarayana, President of AP Congress Committee (APCC) and also a minister in the cabinet of N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. Jhansi Lakshmi earlier represented from Bobbili Lok Sabha Constituency during 2006-09. She won from Vizianagaram Constituency in 2009 General Elections to Parliament. Jhansi Lakshmi occupied various positions in the Congress Party at the district level. She was a Chairperson of Zilla Parishad of Vizianagaram. She first elected to Lok Sabha in a bye – election to Bobbili Constituency in 2006. She served as member of the committees on Urban Development, National Employment Gurantee Council, Chemicals and Fertilizers.
