The Telugu Desam Party has almost finalized its candidates for the ensuing by-elections to be held on 12th June 2012 in 18 Assembly and Nellore Lok Sabha Constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. The TDP is yet to make its mind up on the Maherla Constituency. The Party has fielded Vonteru Venugopal Reddy from Nellore Parliamentary Constituency. Other stalwarts in the fray are Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and T Subbarami Reddy. The TDP has high hopes on these by-elections as it is on rejuvenation mode in most of the state.
It is believed that TDP President, Chandrababu Naidu has asked Kodela Siva Prasada Rao to contest in Maherla but was refused by the later. The party has high hopes on the constituency on the ground of anti – incumbency. The ruling Congress has already announced list of the candidates. 18. Macharala: Yet to be announced (likely to be one from V. Madhu, Ravi and Chalama Reddy.
