Profile of Nagari Constituency – Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu Vs Chenga Reddy

Gali and Chenga Reddy are two senior most politicians from Nagari Constituency of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. Nagari (Chittoor district) is an Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh. The constituency is presently represented by Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu joined in TDP before 2009 elections and won from the segment. Earlier to this Gali was elected as an MLA from Puttur Constituency for 6 terms. He served as a Minister in various portfolios of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu. He joined in Congress before 2004 elections and elected from Puttur. Puttur segment was dissolved in 2009 and merged with Nagari constituency.

Reddywari Chenga Reddy (popular as R Chenga Reddy) is a senior leader of the Congress Party from Chittoor district. He was elected as an MLA for 5 terms from Nagari Assembly Constituency of Chittoor district. He belongs to general category. Chenga Reddy’s father’s name is R.M. Reddy. His permanent address is Koppedu village, Nindra Mandal, Chittoor District. Chenga Reddy bron on 13th January, 1935 in Koppedu village. He studied B.A., B.L. and practiced as a Lawyer. Chengareddy served at various positions. He was sarpanch of Koppedu village for 15 years and later worked as Samithi President of Picchatoor. He was member of Zilla Parishad, Chittoor and also served as Chairman of CADB. He held several positions in the Congress Party also. He was member of AICC and also General Secretary of APPCC.

Chengareddy is one of the most senior politicians in Chittoor district. He worked as a President of DCC, Chittoor District. Chenga Reddy also occupied various Government positions. He was Minister (PR) and Municipal Administration, Minister for Co-Operation and Minister for Industries in various ministries of the Congress Party. Chengareddy also served as a Secretary of the Congress Legislature party (CLP) and also nominated as Chairman of PAC when the Congress was in opposition. He was married to R.
