HCL Infosystems ME U1 and HCL MyEdu Tablets Features

HCL Info systems has come out with two variants of tablet computers – HCL ME U1 and HCL MyEdu Tab. Both the tablets are targeted at different user groups. HCL MyEdu Tab is aimed at catering the needs of learners across the schools and colleges. HCL ME U1 has been launched with a price of Rs 7,999 and the HCL MyEdu Tab – K12 Version is priced at and affordable Rs 11,499. With the introduction of cheapest Aakash Tablet PC, several companies are launching tablets with affordable prices. Recently, Reliance has also come out with a CDMA Tablet with attractive features.

Features of HCL MU U1: This tablet is powered with Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating Software (OS). The company claims that the tablet is equipped with 17 local ready to use applications. The tablet comes with a 7 inch 800 X 480 pixel screen and a 1Ghz processor. The tablet also has a front camera and 512 MB RAM along with an internal memory of 4GB which can be expandable to 32 GB. HCL ME U1 Tablet also has separate slots for full USB, mini USB and a Micro SD card. The tablet also provides Wi-fi connectivity.

Features of HCL MyEdu Tab: This tablet is basically meant for the learners in schools and other higher education institutions like colleges and universities. The MyEduTab- K12 Version’s price is Rs. 11499. The price includes teh cost of the device, content and a memory card. The company will offer educational applications and NCERT books free through this tablet. Another piece in the series, MyEduTab- Higher Education (HE) Version is priced at Rs. 9, 999. Both the tablets will be available from April 2012 in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and other major cities.
